Police Rescue Kidnap Victim in Imo State Operation

On Saturday, June 27, 2026, the Imo State Police Command conducted a successful operation that resulted in the rescue of kidnap victim Chinonaobi Uchegbulam from a forest hideout in Ubaha Orodo, Owerri West Local Government Area. The operation was coordinated by Commissioner of Police Audu Garba Bosso and involved collaboration with local vigilantes.

The police aimed to target criminal hideouts in the area as part of ongoing efforts to rid Imo State of criminal elements. The operation was supervised by Deputy Inspector General of Police Kenechukwu Onwuemeli and involved intelligence-led clearance operations across Neked, Ihiagwa, and Agbala.

Following the rescue, Uchegbulam was immediately evacuated to a medical facility for treatment and is reportedly responding positively. Commissioner Bosso commended the operation's courage and professionalism, reaffirming the command's commitment to ensuring the safety of Imo State residents.
