Police Rescue Kidnap Victim, Arrest Suspect in Abia

The Abia State Police Command successfully apprehended a kidnapping suspect, Ibrahim Audu, aged 42, and rescued the victim, Onyebuchi Nwaoha, who is 46 years old. The operation occurred in Ogwashi Forest, Old Umuahia, following intelligence gathered by the Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU).

During the operation, police engaged the suspect, who was unable to withstand their superior firepower and fled the scene. However, he was later apprehended.

The police recovered a ransom of 830,000 Naira that had been collected from the victim's family. The Commissioner of Police, Danladi Isa, reaffirmed the command's commitment to protecting lives and property and urged the public to support crime prevention efforts by providing timely information to the police.
