Chidoka Blames Kalu for Abia's Decline Since 2003

Osita Chidoka, the former Nigerian Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, stated that the decline of Abia State from 2003 to 2023 was largely due to the actions of former governor Orji Uzor Kalu. Speaking at a keynote lecture marking the 35th anniversary of Abia State in Umuahia, Chidoka highlighted Kalu's political struggles with the federal government and his role in the impeachment of his deputy, Enyinnaya Abaribe, as significant factors contributing to the state's underdevelopment.

Chidoka noted that while Kalu's first term had a positive impact, the situation deteriorated during his second term, leading to a lack of infrastructure development. He expressed that he and other close associates distanced themselves from Kalu during this period.

Chidoka commended current Governor Alex Otti for his investments in education and infrastructure, asserting that future generations will judge Otti more favorably than his predecessors.
