Ogun Governor Dapo Abiodun Approves 1,000 Amotekun Recruits

On Monday, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun approved the recruitment of 1,000 additional operatives for the Amotekun Corps, as announced by Brig Gen Alad Adedigba (Retd), the commandant of the corps. This recruitment is part of a strategic vision to consolidate gains in crime prevention and improve rapid response capabilities through intelligence-driven policing at the grassroots level.

The new intake follows the previous recruitment of almost 1,300 operatives in the prior year. The Ogun State Amotekun Corps will commence its recruitment exercise on February 26, 2026, with applications closing on March 13, 2026.

Interested individuals are encouraged to apply via the official website without any associated costs. The recruitment process will be strictly merit-based, with a thorough screening exercise scheduled from March 23 to April 8, 2026.

Governor Abiodun's administration has previously approved the recruitment of 550 operatives in July and an additional 690 operatives six months ago, reflecting a sustained commitment to enhancing the state's security framework.
