Amotekun Arrests 164 Suspected Criminals in Ondo State

The Ondo State security network agency, Amotekun, conducted a significant operation over the weekend, apprehending 164 suspected criminals across 18 local government areas. The arrests included individuals linked to serious offenses such as three kidnapping cases, 144 breaches of law and order related to rape, and 15 cases of human trafficking.

Notably, suspects Henri Tund and Husseini, aged 35, were identified in connection with armed robbery and murder. The operation was a joint effort involving Amotekun, the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and the Department of State Services, which has significantly curtailed criminal activities in the state.

Additionally, various stolen items, including motorcycles and power generators, were recovered. Akogun Adetunji Adeley, the commandant, commended the Ondo State government for creating an enabling environment for effective security operations and urged the public to provide timely intelligence to aid in crime prevention.
