Ogun Governor Abiodun to Honor Ex-IG Egbetokun

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun and Inspector General of Police Tunji Disu will honor former Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun at a civic reception organized by the Yewa People Development Council. The event is scheduled for Saturday at Yewa Frontier Hotel in Ilaro.

The announcement was made by Prof. Rahamon Bello, the chairman of the council, in a statement issued on Tuesday.

Egbetokun, who is an indigenous son of the Yewa South Local Government Area, served as Nigeria's Inspector General of Police from June 20, 2023, until February 24, 2026. The reception aims to celebrate Egbetokun's contributions and will be attended by various dignitaries, including traditional rulers, military officials, and industry leaders.

Egbetokun stepped down from his role as Inspector General of Police for personal family reasons, as noted in the statement.
