Abiodun Advocates for Church-Government Partnership

On Sunday, during the Golden Jubilee Thanksgiving Service of the Egba Anglican Diocese at St. Peter’s Cathedral, Ake, Abeokuta, Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun emphasized the need for a stronger collaboration between the government and the Church to cultivate disciplined and responsible young leaders for Nigeria's future. He articulated that while the government is tasked with providing infrastructure and economic opportunities, the Church plays a vital role in character building and instilling moral values.

Abiodun noted that the anniversary coincides with Ogun State's own golden jubilee, presenting a chance to reflect on progress and reaffirm commitments to societal development. He warned against allowing technological advancements to overshadow moral values and human wisdom.

The Governor reiterated his administration's dedication to promoting religious harmony and assured religious leaders of continued partnership in fostering peace and responsible citizenship. Additionally, he unveiled a commemorative plaque for the Cathedral Tower, symbolizing a commitment to future generations.

The service featured a sermon by Archbishop Henry Ndukuba, who urged Christians to respond to God's call with renewed commitment.
