Ogun Governor Revives OKLNG Project for Economic Growth

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun announced the revival of the Olokola Liquefied Natural Gas (OKLNG) project, which had been dormant for years. This initiative is part of a broader vision to transform Ogun Waterside into Nigeria's next industrial maritime hub.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has confirmed its commitment to the multi-billion dollar project. During the announcement, made at the inauguration of the reconstructed Gao-Ibiad road, Abiodun emphasized the strategic importance of this investment in anticipation of increased industrial and commercial maritime activities in the region.

He also revealed the discovery of premium grade crude oil in the area, which is expected to enhance investment prospects, including plans for a refinery, deep seaport, and naval base. The reconstruction of the Gao-Ibiad road is critical for supporting economic expansion and improving access within the coastal corridor.

Local representatives praised the governor's efforts to enhance infrastructure and unlock the area's economic potential.
