Gagdi's Absence Halts Reps' PFIPC Scandal Investigation

The investigation by the House of Representatives’ Ad-hoc Committee into the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council/Presidential Economic Advisory Council (PFIPC/PEAC) scandal was stalled on Thursday due to the absence of the committee chairman, Hon. Yusuf Gagdi, and other invited stakeholders.

The hearing was set to take place at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja, but attendees waited over three hours without the arrival of Gagdi or any committee members. Attempts to contact Gagdi for clarification were unsuccessful.

This delay follows the committee's recent disclosure of extensive document forgery related to the PFIPC/PEAC. Gagdi had previously announced that preliminary findings would be presented to the public next week.

During a prior hearing, police representatives indicated that Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Mathew, who allegedly impersonated the PFIPC Director-General, could not be produced due to a court remand order. Gagdi assured that the committee would continue its investigation within legal bounds.
