Reps Committee Questions SGF's Role in PFIPC Office Allocation

Hon. Yusuf Gagdi, the Chairman of the House of Representatives Ad-hoc Committee, is investigating the role of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) in the allocation of office space at the Federal Secretariat to Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, who allegedly headed the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC). Gagdi noted that the allocation of such offices typically falls under the authority of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), raising concerns about the SGF's involvement.

The committee is examining correspondence from the SGF’s office regarding requests for office accommodation for presidential special assistants. Some permanent secretaries in the SGF’s office have been suspended in connection with these requests.

Gagdi revealed that the committee is also investigating whether the office occupied by Adeyemi was previously assigned to another presidential official. Additionally, the committee has uncovered documents that may have been forged, including one that misused a State House letterhead to create a non-existent office title.
