Reps Committee May Summon Gbajabiamila in PFIPC Probe

The Chairman of the House of Representatives Ad-hoc Committee investigating the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), Hon. Yusuf Gagdi, stated that the committee would invite former Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, if evidence necessitates his appearance. Gagdi emphasized that the committee's mandate is not limited to specific individuals but aims to understand how the PFIPC became part of the Federal Government's administrative and budgetary framework.

He clarified that invitations would depend on the evidence presented during the investigation. Gagdi also explained the committee's decision to meet Prince Adeniyi at a police facility instead of a public hearing, citing his custody under a court order.

He refrained from disclosing details of Adeniyi's testimony due to ongoing investigations by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, and the police. The committee's recent report was preliminary, intended to inform the public about the investigation's progress.
