ABSU Begins Screening First-Class Graduates for Jobs

Abia State University (ABSU) has initiated the screening process for first-class graduates to facilitate their automatic employment, as announced by Governor Alex Otti during the 30th and 32nd convocation ceremonies held on March 27, 2026. The screening began on Wednesday, targeting graduates who have completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Ndukw Okeudo expressed pride in the academic achievements of the graduates, while Deputy Vice Chancellor for Administration Prof.

Mr. Roselin Ndimel emphasized the university's commitment to rewarding hard work.

Registrar Dr. Acho Elendu urged prospective candidates to adhere strictly to the guidelines to avoid errors during the screening process.

Governor Otti stated that the initiative is aimed at retaining first-class graduates from three convocations, provided they have a cumulative average of 4.25 and have completed the NYSC. Additionally, first-class graduates will be eligible for postgraduate scholarships at public universities in Nigeria.
