Abua Cannic and Etoro Bassei Win CBN Tennis Championship

At the 47th Central Bank of Nigeria Senior Tennis Championship held in Abuja, Abua Cannic emerged as the new champion in the men's singles category, defeating the defending champion Michael Akpan Emmanuel with a score of 6-1, 6-2. In the women's singles, 18-year-old Etoro Bassei claimed victory over Ogunjobi Success, winning 3-6, 6-0, 6-2.

In the men's doubles event, the pair of Abua Cannic and Moham Musa triumphed over Michael Akpan Emmanuel and Sylvanu Ajano. The women's doubles saw Khadijat Ogunjobi and Ogunjobi Success defeat Etoro Bassei and Jame Favour with a score of 6-2, 6-7(2), 10-6.

Olayemi Cardoso, representing the Central Bank of Nigeria, commended the players and stakeholders for their contributions to the success of the championship and assured continued support for the development of Nigerian youth through such events.
