Abuja Amateur Basketball Tournament Set for July 20

The Abuja Amateur Basketball Tournament, organized by the FCT Basketball Caretaker Committee and the Amateur Basketball Association, is scheduled for July 20. Prof.

D.C. Lucki Abubakar described the tournament as the beginning of a journey to transform lives and reshape communities by elevating local talent to a global stage.

The event will feature both boys' and girls' academies within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Abubakar highlighted the undeniable truth of untapped basketball talent in the community and the need for structured grassroots programs.

The tournament aims to serve as a platform for talent discovery, enabling local players to compete and excel internationally. Additionally, it is expected to identify future stars capable of representing Nigeria in international competitions and strengthen grassroots basketball development.

HRH Ez Ifeanyi Ek stressed the importance of sustained investment and partnerships in grassroots basketball development for long-term growth.
