De Rainbow Event Centre Denies Wike's License Threat

The De Rainbow Event Centre in Abuja has publicly denied allegations that it faced a threat of license revocation from Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, concerning the hosting of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) convention. Yusuf described the claims as false and misleading, stating that the venue had not received any threats regarding its operational license. This clarification was prompted by concerns from clients who had already booked the facility, fearing potential cancellations.

Yusuf emphasized that the venue remains open for business and that all existing bookings are valid. The ADC, led by former Senate President David Mark, had previously alleged that the venue was pressured to cancel its agreement ahead of the convention scheduled for April 14.

ADC spokesperson Bolaji Abdullahi claimed that the event center was warned of possible consequences if the event proceeded, but the party insisted on fulfilling its financial obligations under the agreement.
