Abuja's Landscape to Transform by 2027, Wike Assures

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), stated that Abuja's landscape will be completely transformed by the end of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's first term on May 29, 2027. Wike made this assertion during the official flag-off of the construction of the Southern Parkwai Service Carriageway in Gaduwa District, Abuja.

He reaffirmed the commitment of the FCT administration to sustain ongoing infrastructure projects and dismissed concerns about potential slowdowns due to the upcoming elections. Wike emphasized that projects will continue unabated, regardless of the electoral cycle, and assured that the Southern Parkwai project would be completed on schedule.

He also highlighted a crackdown on land grabbers who develop land without valid allocations, describing this trend as a major threat to Abuja's master plan. Wike directed the development control department to identify and remove illegal structures along project corridors, ensuring compliance with legal allocations.
