Power Outages in Oyo Communities Due to Accident

A vehicular accident on the Akala Expressway resulted in damage to a high tension pole, leading to power outages in multiple communities serviced by the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) in Ibadan, Oyo State. The incident affected the Oluyol 11kV feeder, causing immediate power disruptions in areas including Adeoj 1, Adeoj 2, Adeoj 3, Adeoj 4, Red Gate, Bird Plu, Domin, Omook, Sofeco, and White New Environment.

An official notice was issued by IBEDC on Monday, detailing the situation and assuring customers that the technical team is working to restore power as quickly as possible. The company expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and urged patience during the repair process.

This incident follows a broader context of power supply constraints affecting various regions, including Kaduna, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara states, where similar power supply reductions have been reported.
