Accord Party Rejects Claims of Joint Presidential Ticket

The Accord Party, represented by its national public secretary Joseph Omorogb, has officially distanced itself from reports suggesting it supports a joint presidential ticket for the 2027 general elections. This clarification was made in Abuja on a Monday, following a political summit held in Ibadan, Oyo State, where leaders from various opposition platforms discussed forming a united front against the ruling party.

Omorogb described the reports as misleading and unjust, asserting that the Accord Party neither participated in nor endorsed any resolutions from the summit, including the proposal for a joint presidential candidate. He emphasized that the party was not aware of the coalition meeting and did not send representatives.

The party condemned the actions of the summit organizers for misrepresenting its stance and warned against actions that could escalate political tensions ahead of the 2027 elections. The Accord Party aims to focus on upcoming governorship polls in Ekiti and Osun without being distracted by the ongoing discussions among opposition parties.
