Saka Clarifies His Transition from Etisalat to MTN

Actor and comedian Afeez Oyetoro, popularly known as Saka, addressed the longstanding controversy regarding his transition from Etisalat to MTN during an interview on African A-List. He clarified that he never held a formal ambassadorial contract with Etisalat; instead, he worked as a model through an advertising agency on a short-term basis.

Once that arrangement ended, he was free to pursue other opportunities. His involvement in the 2013 MTN "I don port" campaign was interpreted by many as a dramatic switch from Etisalat to MTN, which Saka disputed.

He revealed that his partnership with MTN lasted seven years and was pivotal in elevating his career and earnings. Following the controversy, Etisalat attempted to report the matter to the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON), but eventually dropped the complaint without any formal action.

Saka expressed gratitude for MTN's support, which he credited as a significant turning point in his professional journey.
