Veteran Nigerian Actor Solomon Akiyesi Dies in Sleep

Solomon Akiyesi, a veteran Nigerian actor and film producer, passed away in his sleep on Sunday, as confirmed by Abubakar Yakubu, the President of the Actor Guild Nigeria. The incident occurred in Abuja, where his body was deposited at a mortuary.

Yakubu stated that Akiyesi went to sleep and did not wake up, with further details expected from the family regarding the circumstances surrounding his death. Akiyesi, originally from Ososo in Akoko Edo Local Government Area of Edo State, began his journey in Nollywood in the late 1990s and built a reputation as a versatile character actor and producer.

He appeared in over 100 films, including notable titles such as "Married Love," "Kiss of Pain," "Joi Nakasha," "Heart of a Saint," "Deadly Affair," and "Gen Z." Tributes have poured in from colleagues, fans, and members of the entertainment industry following his passing.
