Veteran Nollywood Actress Passes Away After Illness

A veteran Nollywood actress, recognized for her role as Madam Koi Koi in the 2002 comedy film "Aki na Ukwa," has died after a battle with illness. The announcement of her death was made public by Uch Agbo, the President of the Director Guild Nigeria, on Saturday.

In a statement, Kecher Hail Mbais, who holds the position of Vice Chairman of the Director Guild Nigeria's Abuja chapter, expressed condolences and highlighted the actress's significant contributions to the growth of the guild and her active role within the Abuja chapter. The actress studied Theatre Arts at the University of Ibadan and joined Nollywood in 2001, gaining recognition early in her career with her appearance in the film "August Meeting" and later achieving wider acclaim for her comedic role in "Aki na Ukwa.".
