ADC Crisis Deepens as Binani Rejects State Congress

The crisis within the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Adamawa has intensified as Senator Aisha Binani publicly rejected the state congress conducted by Barrister Sadiq Ibrahim Dasin. The congress, which took place despite a High Court order to suspend the exercise pending a determination of a related case, has led to significant discontent among party members.

Binani expressed her disappointment with the congress process, alleging that the committee led by Dasin did not adhere to proper procedures. During a solidarity rally held in Yola on Monday, she urged patience and assured supporters that actions would be taken to address the political movement's interests.

The ADC stalwart Peter Hardli Dilli criticized the developments, accusing former party secretary of being behind the unnecessary crisis. The party's three blocs, including Binani's, had previously agreed on a sharing formula, but the refusal to comply with the court order has raised concerns about the party's future ahead of the 2027 general elections.
