Customs Seizes N362.2m Worth of Pangolin Scales in Adamawa

The Adamawa/Taraba State command of the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) has achieved a significant milestone in its anti-smuggling efforts by seizing contraband valued at N362,204,543.91. The operation resulted in the confiscation of 64 pieces of complete raw donkey skin, 534.55 kilograms of dried donkey meat, 74 kilograms of ivory tusks, and 220 kilograms of pangolin scales.

Additional items seized included 25,295 litres of PMS, 9 kilograms of cannabis sativa, and various other contraband goods. At a press conference held in Yola on Wednesday, Area Controller Mohammed Tako credited the success to intelligence-based operations and the dedication of NCS officers.

Tako declared a total war against smugglers, urging them to abandon illegal activities in favor of legitimate business ventures. He also announced the arrest of five suspects linked to the seizure and expressed gratitude to Comptroller General of Customs Bashir Adewale Adeniyi for his leadership and to other agencies for their collaboration.
