Adamawa State Raises Minimum Pension to N50,000

On Friday, during a live appearance on the Hausa program "Taba Kidi Taba Karatu" on Adamawa Broadcast Corporation in Yola, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri announced a significant increase in the minimum monthly pension for retired civil servants in Adamawa State to N50,000. This new minimum represents a substantial rise from the previous amount of N4,000, which had been the least paid pension in the state for over a decade.

The governor's decision comes in response to ongoing protests regarding pension injustices and aims to reflect the administration's appreciation for years of service by retired workers. The chairman of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Moham Sali, was not available for comment at the time of the report.

This adjustment is part of the administration's efforts to improve the living conditions of retired workers in the state.
