14 LG Chairmen Defect to APC in Support of Fintiri

On a press conference held in Yola, Adamawa State, on Friday, 14 local government chairmen and 39 special advisers announced their defection from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). The chairmen represent various local governments including Toungo, Gany Jada, Mayo Belwa, Numan, Shelleng, Lamurde, Guyuk, Yola South, Fufore, Hong, Maiha, Mubi South, and Madagali.

They expressed their decision was made after extensive consultations with their constituents and in solidarity with Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, who they praised for demonstrating uncommon courage and achieving unprecedented milestones in infrastructure, health, education, security, and urban renewal. Hon. Sulaiman Ahm Gangkuba, the chairman of the Toungo local government, emphasized the importance of harmony between state and local governments for development.

The defectors believe that working together with the governor will strengthen cooperation and align their shared goals for the state.
