Adamawa Police Arrest Two Armed Robbery Suspects in Mubi

Adamawa State Police Command arrested two men linked to a June 10 robbery in Mubi, recovering stolen items and pursuing additional suspects.
The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two individuals identified as Abdulhamid Salihu and Alia Baban in connection with an armed robbery that occurred in Mubi's Unguwar Kara area on June 10, 2026. The pair, who appeared on the police command's wanted list since the previous year, were apprehended following an operation coordinated between units in Mubi South and Mubi North, according to a statement released Friday by police spokesperson SP Suleiman Nguroj.
The robbery incident in question took place during the early morning hours and left a victim, Mustapha Ali, injured. During the attack, the perpetrators seized cash and other valuables from their target.
The police statement indicated that the two arrested men worked alongside at least two other accomplices in carrying out the crime, though those additional suspects remain at large. Authorities recovered stolen property during the arrest operation.
The apprehension of Salihu and Baban came as a result of sustained intelligence-led policing operations focused on the Mubi area. The police command identified both men as notable robbery suspects whose criminal activities had drawn official attention over an extended period.
The statement did not specify the exact nature or value of items recovered from the suspects. Separately, the Oyo State Police Command announced the arrest of five armed robbery suspects in the Olodo area of Egbeda Local Government Area on Saturday, resulting in the recovery of firearms, ammunition, and other items.
That operation resulted in the seizure of two firearms, eight live cartridges, a bulletproof vest, and various charms and incriminating materials. The Adamawa investigation remains ongoing with police pursuing the accomplices who remain fugitives.
