Shilla Gang Member Sentenced to 12 Years for Robbery

A member of the notorious Shilla gang was sentenced to 12 years in prison by Magistrate Zainab Buba in Adamawa State for robbery and other crimes. The convict, identified as a participant in various thefts, unlawfully broke into the residence of Fatima Magaji on June 10, 2026, stealing items including an Infinix Smart 10 mobile phone valued at ₦125,000, a Tecno phone worth ₦30,000, and an MP3 player valued at ₦3,000.

Further investigations revealed that on June 27, 2026, the convict and gang members attacked Usama Suleiman in Jambutu Ward, Yola North LGA, forcibly taking a Samsung Galaxy phone valued at ₦170,000 and a power bank worth ₦20,000. The convict confessed to the crimes, implicating Adamu Mahmud, believed to be the gang leader.

The court found the convict guilty on multiple charges, including theft and criminal conspiracy, and ordered him to pay ₦527,000 in compensation to the victims across three cases.
