Adamawa, UNICEF Launch Project to Combat Child Malnutrition

The Adamawa State Government, in partnership with the United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, launched a new nutritional project in Adamawa State to combat malnutrition in children during the critical first 1,000 days of life. The project was introduced in Yola over the weekend, with UNICEF nutrition specialist Mrs.

Phylomena Irene emphasizing its goals of promoting maternal nutrition, exclusive breastfeeding, and improving feeding practices for infants and young children. She highlighted the severe impact of malnutrition on children's physical and cognitive development, noting that 40-50 percent of children are affected.
