Adarabioyo Targeted as Konsa's Replacement at Villa

Aston Villa has identified Chelsea centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo as a potential replacement for Ezri Konsa, who is expected to finalize a transfer to Arsenal for £51 million plus add-ons. Transfer market expert David Ornstein reported that Konsa bid farewell to his teammates on Wednesday and is scheduled for a medical today.

Adarabioyo is among the candidates being considered by Aston Villa to fill the gap left by Konsa, who played a significant role for England in the 2026 World Cup, participating in all eight matches and scoring one goal. Chelsea is looking to reduce their squad size, making Adarabioyo surplus to requirements despite his strong pre-season performance.

Arsenal had previously reopened negotiations with Aston Villa for Konsa but struggled to reach an agreement until now. Konsa, who joined Aston Villa in July 2019, has made 286 appearances and was instrumental in the club's recent success, including winning the Europa League and securing Champions League football for the 2026-27 season.
