ADC Critiques Tinubu's Governance and Budget Issues

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) issued a statement criticizing President Bola Tinubu's administration for its ineffective governance, marking it as one of the worst in Nigeria's history. Bolaji Abdullahi, the party's spokesperson, pointed out the government's struggle to properly implement the national budget, noting repeated policy reversals and questionable appointments.

The ADC highlighted that the federal government has handled three national budgets without full implementation, with reports indicating that although the 2024 budget extends into 2025, only a small portion of capital spending has been released for the third quarter of 2025. The party rejected the government's claims regarding the arrangement of long-term projects, arguing that the explanation does not make sense.

They raised concerns about the low levels of capital spending in key sectors such as power, education, and health, while questioning the government's revenue generation and loan strategies. The ADC emphasized the ongoing economic hardship faced by Nigerians, despite reports of improved foreign reserves, and criticized the administration for prioritizing political power over the welfare of citizens.
