ADC Labels Tinubu's Government as 'Most Incompetent'

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has publicly criticized President Bola Tinubu's administration, describing it as the "most incompetent" in Nigeria's history. In a statement issued on Thursday by the party's national public secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC accused the federal government of fiscal confusion, alleging that it is currently running three national budgets simultaneously without effective implementation.

This situation, according to Abdullahi, reflects a historic level of incompetence in managing public finances. The ADC highlighted that the 2024 budget is being rolled out alongside the 2025 budget, while the third quarter of the previous year saw only 17.7 percent of the capital budget released, with overall implementation remaining below 30 percent.

The party dismissed the government's explanations as absurd and claimed that the low capital budget implementation rates in key sectors such as power, communication, technology, education, and health are alarming. The ADC also questioned the government's handling of public resources amidst worsening economic hardship, urging the federal government to focus on addressing the country's economic and security challenges.
