Amaechi Joins ADC Amid Arson Attack in Rivers State

Rotimi Amaechi, the former Minister of Transport and ex-Governor of Rivers State, officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on a Friday morning in Ward 8, Ubima, Ikwerre Local Government Area, Rivers State. This development occurred against a backdrop of heightened tensions, as suspected thugs reportedly attacked and set the ADC's local office ablaze earlier that day.

Despite the incident, Amaechi addressed his supporters, urging them to remain calm and avoid retaliatory violence, emphasizing that violence could lead to fatalities. He commended the security operations deployed in the area to maintain order during the registration exercise and praised the Rivers State Commissioner of Police and the Director of the Department of State Services (DSS) for their professionalism.

Amaechi called on security agencies to swiftly identify and apprehend those responsible for the arson, stressing that such acts of intimidation would not deter the ADC's activities in the community.
