ADC Condemns Arson Attack on Party Secretariat in Rivers

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) issued a strong condemnation of the burning of its party secretariat in Ubima, Rivers State, which occurred last night. Bolaji Abdullahi, in a statement released on Friday, described the incident as a dangerous escalation of political violence, alleging that the attack was carried out by thugs loyal to the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The ADC highlighted that this act is part of a disturbing pattern of intimidation and violence against its members, noting a recent incident where an ADC member was shot during a political gathering. The party stressed its commitment to peaceful democratic participation and stated that such violence should not be tolerated in Nigeria.

The ADC called on security agencies to promptly investigate the incident, identify the perpetrators, and ensure justice is served, warning that failure to do so would embolden further violence against political opponents. The party reaffirmed its dedication to protecting its members and property through legal means.
