ADC Demands Investigation into Attack on Peter Obi

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has urged for further investigation into the attack on its members, including presidential candidate Peter Obi, which took place at the party's secretariat in Edo State. The ADC's South-South zonal public secretary, Mabel Oboh, stated that the Department of State Services (DSS) arrested a suspect named Udem Stephen, believed to be linked to the February 24 attack in Benin City.

However, Oboh emphasized that a single arrest does not provide sufficient clarity regarding the incident, which left several individuals injured and involved a coordinated assault on both the ADC secretariat and the residence of Chief John Odigi Oyegun. The ADC commended the DSS for their action but insisted on a transparent investigation to uncover the financial and logistical support behind the attack.

The party expressed concern over the implications of political violence on Nigeria's democracy and called for unity and calm among its members.
