ADC Accuses Federal Government of Selective Justice

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has publicly accused the federal government of engaging in selective justice concerning the legal cases involving former Kaduna State Governor Mallam Nasir El-Rufai and former Attorney General Abubakar Malami. In a statement signed by Bolaji Abdullahi, the party expressed concerns over the swift legal proceedings against these high-profile opposition figures, contrasting them with the slower pace of similar cases involving others.

The ADC emphasized that no citizen is above the law and questioned the rapid progress of investigations, suggesting that it raises serious public concern regarding fairness. The party maintained that credible evidence exists against the former officials and called for transparency in the prosecution process.

They also urged relevant authorities to clarify the status of the investigations while adhering strictly to constitutional safeguards against arbitrary detention, ensuring equal application of the law regardless of political affiliation.
