ADC Prohibits State Chapters from Legal Engagements

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has issued a directive barring its state chapters from executing court matters without prior approval from the national headquarters. This decision, communicated through a public notice signed by the party's National Public Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, aims to address instances where legal practitioners engaged purportedly on behalf of the party without the knowledge or approval of the national legal adviser.

The ADC's constitution grants the national legal adviser the authority to issue instructions regarding legal representation. Consequently, state chapters are instructed not to engage legal practitioners for filing court processes or representing the party without express written approval from the national legal adviser.

The notice further warns that any unauthorized handling of litigation could result in disciplinary action as per the party's constitutional provisions. State chapters are required to circulate this directive among party officials for immediate compliance.
