ADC Chieftain Urges Judiciary to Uphold Neutrality

Comrade Abdullahi Ibrahim Ismael, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Nasarawa State, expressed concerns regarding the ongoing leadership dispute within the party. Speaking to journalists in Lafia on Wednesday, Ismael urged the judiciary to maintain impartiality while handling cases related to the party's internal affairs.

He aligned with the faction of ADC leadership that supports former Senate President David Mark and former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola. Ismael argued that the dispute should be resolved according to established legal precedents concerning internal party democracy.

He maintained confidence in the legal position of the party and called on the judiciary to ensure that matters related to the leadership dispute are determined strictly in accordance with due process. Ismael further emphasized the importance of preserving democratic values and the role of opposition parties in Nigeria's democratic process, urging stakeholders to safeguard democratic institutions and strengthen public confidence in the rule of law.
