ADC Holds Congresses in Ogun and Abia, Produces Rival Chairmen

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) conducted congresses in Ogun and Abia states as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections. In Ogun State, the party faced a leadership crisis, leading to parallel congresses. One faction, aligned with former Senate President David Mark, elected Dimeji Fabiyi as the deputy national financial secretary, while the other faction, led by Olatunji Shoyinka, produced Emmanuel Famojuro as the state chairman. Famojuro's election was declared absent, but he accepted the role and emphasized grassroots mobilization. Femi Soluad criticized past leadership for hindering party growth. In Abia State, the ADC held a unified congress in Umuahia, where Kalu Kalu Agu was elected state chairman, promising to unite members and prioritize electoral success. The congress committee, led by Fredrick Onw, expressed confidence in the party's stability despite recent developments at the national level.
