ADC Faction Disowns Viral Convention Video Amid Legal Battle

The Nafiu Bala Gomb-led faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has publicly disowned a viral video that allegedly depicts an empty venue for their planned national convention in Abuja. The video, which circulated widely on social media, claimed that the convention was scheduled to take place at the Moshood Abiola International Stadium but showed no delegates or official signs of activity.

Bala Kumo, the Chief of Staff to the national chairman, clarified that the Gomb-led faction had neither issued a notice for an electoral convention nor authorized any gathering. The faction described the video as a part of a coordinated propaganda effort by political opponents.

The ADC is currently involved in a legal dispute with a rival faction led by David Mark, with a Supreme Court ruling expected to clarify the party's leadership structure. The matter is set to be heard again on April 22, 2026, and the Gomb faction remains optimistic about the judicial process.
