ADC Sets Primaries Dates, Nomination Fees for 2027 Elections

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has set the dates for its primaries in preparation for the 2027 general elections, as announced by Bolaji Abdullahi, the party's National Publicity Secretary. The sale of nomination forms began on April 1, 2026, and will conclude on May 4, 2026.

The schedule includes the submission of completed forms from May 5 to May 10, with screening of aspirants taking place from May 14 to May 15. Results will be published on May 17, with an appeal process expected on May 18 and 19.

The final list of candidates will be released on May 20, and the primaries will commence on May 21. The presidential primaries are scheduled for May 25, with the process concluding at a national executive committee meeting on May 26 and a special national convention on May 27.

The nomination fees are set at ₦100 million for presidential aspirants, ₦50 million for governorship, ₦20 million for Senate, ₦10 million for House of Representatives, and ₦3 million for State House of Assembly. The ADC is offering a 50% discount for youth, a 25% discount for women, and special considerations for persons with disabilities.
