ADC Opposes N150m Campaign Fee in Enugu State Elections

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has expressed strong opposition to a newly imposed N150 million political campaign advertising permit fee by the Enugu State government, which they claim is unconstitutional and undemocratic. The ADC, represented by Paul Anigbogu, argues that this fee is a tactic by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and Governor Peter Mba to suppress opposition parties ahead of the 2026 local government elections and the 2027 general elections.

The ADC's media team issued a press release on February 13, 2026, stating that the fee violates the Nigerian Constitution and is an attempt to usurp federal powers. They intend to challenge the legality of this fee in court if the state government does not rescind its decision.

The ADC further accused the APC-led government of adopting undemocratic practices to intimidate and financially burden opposition parties, thereby skewing the electoral process in their favor.
