The ADC denied making any commitment, with its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, labeling the claim as misleading.

Dr. Yunusa Tanko of the Obidients Movement criticized the party's silence on the issue of zoning the presidency to the South.

Tanko emphasized the importance of equity and fairness in party decisions. The controversy arose as the ADC considered admitting heavyweight political figures into its ranks.
