ADC Postpones Screening for Presidential Aspirants

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) announced the postponement of its screening exercise for presidential and governorship aspirants, which was initially scheduled for the weekend of May 18, 2026. This decision was made due to security concerns affecting parts of Northern Nigeria, as stated in a release from the party's national publicity secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi.

The ADC expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by this adjustment and appealed for understanding and cooperation from aspirants and stakeholders. Meanwhile, the Labour Party has constituted an eight-member committee tasked with screening various aspirants for the upcoming 2027 general elections.

Among the notable presidential aspirants mentioned are former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, and renowned economist Hayatudeen Mohammed.
