ADC Challenges ₦150m Election Ad Fee in Enugu

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has publicly rejected a ₦150 million election advertisement permit fee mandated by the Enugu state government, threatening to challenge the imposition in court. The party's chairman, Comrade Ugwu Izuchukwu, criticized the fee as a draconian measure intended to suppress opposition voices in the lead-up to the 2026-2027 elections.

He alleged that the administration of Governor Peter Mbah aims to monopolize public advertising space to disadvantage rival political parties. Izuchukwu emphasized that such tactics would not deter the ADC from utilizing legal means to contest the fee, asserting that it is anti-democratic and cannot be imposed on political parties.

He further accused the state government of attempting to intimidate opposition parties and monopolize billboard space across the state, insisting that these actions would not influence electoral outcomes. The ADC remains committed to ensuring equal rights for all political entities in Enugu state.
