ADC Explains Atiku Abubakar's Absence from Summit

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) clarified the absence of its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, from the G100 opposition summit held on Monday at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja. ADC spokesperson Bolaji Abdullahi stated that the summit was primarily focused on discussions among political parties rather than individual presidential candidates.

Abdullahi mentioned that the ADC was adequately represented by several officials, including four vice chairmen, making Atiku's physical presence unnecessary. He emphasized that the summit aimed to explore cooperation opportunities among political parties in preparation for the 2027 elections.

The meeting included representatives from six major opposition parties, who discussed potential collaboration to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Notably, other prominent opposition figures, including Peter Obi and Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, were also absent from the gathering.
