Fubara Strengthens Partnership with Nigerian Army

On Tuesday, Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, affirmed his administration's commitment to enhancing its partnership with the Nigerian Army to safeguard critical national assets and address economic sabotage in the state. This pledge was made during a courtesy visit from Major General Everest Okoro, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 6th Division of the Nigerian Army, at the Government House in Port Harcourt.

Accompanied by senior military officers, Okoro's visit was welcomed by Fubara, who acknowledged the longstanding relationship between the Rivers State Government and the Nigerian Army, which has been vital during challenging times. Fubara emphasized the necessity of joint efforts to protect oil and gas infrastructure from vandalism, stating that collaboration with military and other security agencies is essential.

He expressed his administration's readiness to support Okoro in his new role and highlighted the strategic importance of Rivers State to the national economy.
