ADC Demands Prosecution of Nafiu Bala Over False Claims

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to prosecute Nafiu Bala, the factional chairman, for allegedly making false claims regarding access to INEC's portal. Bolaji Abdullahi, ADC's spokesman, stated that Bala's assertions about his faction successfully uploading candidates for the 2027 general elections were untrue and misleading.

Abdullahi emphasized that Bala's claims were a serious matter that warranted immediate attention from law enforcement agencies. He called for INEC to take necessary steps to ensure that Bala and anyone else involved in promoting these falsehoods are investigated and prosecuted according to the law.

INEC's Director of Voter Education and Publicity, Victoria Eta Messi, also described Bala's claims as false, asserting that he is not recognized as the national chairman of the ADC. The ADC welcomed INEC's prompt clarification regarding the matter.
