ADC Demands INEC Action Against Nafiu Bala for Forgery

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to investigate and prosecute Nafiu Bala, a faction leader, for allegedly forging a document to gain access to INEC's nomination portal for the 2027 general elections. The ADC's statement, made by its national public secretary Bolaji Abdullahi, followed INEC's clarification that it neither granted Bala access to the nomination portal nor recognized his faction's leadership as legitimate.

The ADC welcomed INEC's confirmation that the document circulated by Bala, which purportedly showed he had obtained access to upload candidates on behalf of the ADC, was entirely false. The party accused Bala of attempting to mislead the public and described his claims as a serious matter that warranted immediate attention from law enforcement agencies.

The ADC emphasized that the situation had escalated beyond mere political disagreement and called for necessary steps to ensure accountability for those involved in promoting falsehoods.
