ADC Youth Wing Demands INEC Restore David Mark Leadership

The Youth Wing of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has given the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) a 72-hour ultimatum to restore the leadership of David Mark, following a meeting of the party's National Executive Committee (NEC) on July 29, 2025, which resulted in a new leadership structure. ADC National Youth Leader Balarab Rufa accused INEC of undermining democracy and exceeding its constitutional powers.

He stated that INEC's actions have compromised democratic principles and called for a nationwide civic action if their demands are not met. Rufa emphasized that the leadership produced during the July 2025 NEC meeting remains legitimate and warned that any changes without a final court judgment would be deemed illegal.

He urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to avoid actions that could weaken opposition parties, warning that failure to meet their demands would lead to peaceful protests across Nigeria, including plans to occupy INEC offices in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
