ADC Youths Protest in Abuja Against Judge's Ruling

On a recent date, youths from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) staged a protest in Abuja, demanding the removal of Justice Peter Odo Lifu of the Federal High Court. The protest was in response to Lifu's ruling that resulted in the deregistration of the ADC and four other parties by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The demonstration, led by ADC National Youth Leader Balarab Rufai, took place at the party's national secretariat in Wuse 2 and the Federal High Court Maitama. Protesters carried placards with messages such as "Judiciary Not for Sale" and "Save Democracy." Rufai called for intervention from former presidents Olusegun Obasanjo, Ibrahim Babangida, Goodluck Jonathan, and Abdulsalami Abubakar, emphasizing the need for judicial integrity.

He urged the Attorney General of the Federation to intervene and ensure the removal of the judgment against the ADC, claiming that the judge's actions violated judicial precedents. The ADC youth vowed to continue their protests until their demands are met, asserting that the party must remain on the ballot for the 2027 general elections.
